Empowering Sustainable Growth in West Africa through AI and Industrial Hemp: GFAS joins the SEADE Programme

As part of the EU-funded initiative SEADE – Strengthening Entrepreneurial Activities for a Digital Europe, the German Federal Association for Sustainability (BVNG) is proud to partner with African Golden Food Ltd. (Nigeria). Supported by ENRICH in Africa, this collaboration combines our expertise in industrial hemp and artificial intelligence (AI) with African entrepreneurial initiatives for sustainable development.

Our joint project focuses on applying advanced technologies to improve agricultural productivity, resource efficiency, and product innovation in the industrial hemp sector (Cannabis sativa L.), with a particular focus on West Africa.

Based on our current publication “AI and Industrial Hemp combined”, BVNG is contributing to:

  • the implementation of AI-based precision farming,

  • automated harvesting and energy-efficient processing technologies,

  • AI-optimized extraction and product development,

  • transparent supply chains and predictive market modelling using blockchain,

  • and the promotion of sustainable applications like hempcrete, bioplastics, and carbon sequestration models.

By working with African Golden Food Ltd., we aim to translate these technologies into practical impact – creating new jobs, supporting regenerative agriculture, and building local value chains that support long-term resilience.
