The Federal Association for Sustainability invites Bundestag members in the session week from Sept 23th to an exchange under the motto “Politicians ask – FridaysForFuture answer” to their stand at the We4Future camp at the Chancellery.
The format is not only intended to record and answer questions, but also to enable young people to get acquainted with their motivations and concerns about their future.
For the fifth time in 2019, the Federal Association for Sustainability awards its Federal Prize for Sustainability to initiatives, projects, organizations, movements, companies and individuals who succeed in an exemplary manner to promote the development and the values of a sustainable and just world within the existing system.
The prize will be awarded in the categories Society, Politics, Economy, Administration. For the first time from 2019, these will be rounded off by the special category Youth: a lead for junior projects of the youth. Under the motto “LISTEN TO US! – Voices of the Generations” for the first time in the 5-year history of the award, a jury of all generations will decide on the award winners to be awarded. The youth, who will bear most of the consequences of the impending socio-ecological crisis, gets a particularly strong voice, true to the title “LISTEN TO US!”.
The jury is made up of the following age groups: 50% of the jury seats include 12 to 21 year olds, one quarter 22 to 65 year olds, and 66 to 88+ year olds. This multi-generational jury gives due recognition and voice to the projects that are in their eyes the most forward-looking projects. With the jury, the Federal Association for Sustainability sets an example for intergenerational justice and promotes the cohesion of the generations at eye level.
