Today the German Federal Association for Sustainability has awarded for the second time the sustainability award “Federal Band for Sustainability” in 4 categories. In his opening speech President Tarik Mustafa pointed out the fact that the man-made climate change undoubtedly lead to changes in society and the economy in the next 50 years which politics and administration would have to adapt to.

Tarik Mustafa: “9 months ago, the UN adopted the global Sustainable Development Goals in New York in 17 main objectives, each with 10 sub-objectives. which according to the UN shall transform the world … Germany has committed to these objectives. Now it is the time to ensure the implementation of this. Thus, all actors are invited to implement these goals as a benchmark for their actions and to install the goals virtually in their “DNA”. The German Federal Association for Sustainability will accompany this process from the beginning and will introduce the sustainable development goals to its fields of action.

He stressed that the main task of sustainable development would be to reform the existing education systems to more self-reliance and responsibility. In his view future school has to offer focus training, vision training and communication training as well as learn how to learn and promote talents and skills.
